ICE Just Came Down Hard on a Plant Manager

For years, immigration enforcement often followed a familiar pattern.

Federal authorities would raid a workplace, remove unauthorized workers, issue fines, and move on. Business leaders rarely faced serious consequences, and many critics argued that the system failed to address the employers who benefited from illegal labor in the first place.

The operation, known as “Operation Ghost Story,” unfolded when a large coalition of federal, state, and local law enforcement agencies executed enforcement actions at Burnstein Von Seelen Precision Casting, a metal casting company that reportedly employed hundreds of workers.

By the end of the operation, 48 individuals had been detained for alleged immigration violations.
