The Los Angeles Dodgers stirred controversy this week after claiming on social media that they had refused entry to U.S. Immigration and Customs Enforcement (ICE) agents at their stadium. But the agency quickly fired back, slamming the team’s story as completely false.
“ICE was never at Dodgers stadium, and thus never tried to gain access,” the agency said flatly in a public statement. On X, ICE doubled down: “False. We were never there.”
The Dodgers initially posted that agents had “requested permission to access the parking lots,” but no evidence has surfaced supporting the claim. Law enforcement may have briefly been present near the venue, but it wasn’t ICE.
Customs and Border Protection (CBP) clarified the confusion, stating, “CBP vehicles were in the stadium parking lot very briefly,” and emphasized it “had nothing to do with the Dodgers.” A spokesperson added that the presence was “unrelated to any operation or enforcement.”
