Authorities Say Suspect Allegedly Pledged Allegiance to ISIS and Planned Mass-Casualty Attack

Federal authorities have arrested an 18-year-old Minnesota man accused of plotting a terrorist attack at one of the country’s largest shopping centers, disrupting an alleged plan that prosecutors say could have resulted in dozens of deaths.

Sheikhdoon Abdullahi Mohamud was taken into custody by the FBI on Tuesday after investigators allegedly uncovered plans to attack the Mall of America in Bloomington, Minnesota, later this month. According to CBS News, which cited a criminal complaint, the suspect allegedly intended to carry out the attack on October 24 during a Hmong Arts Celebration.
