FBI Finds 303 Gold Bars in CIA Official’s Basement

Federal investigators have reportedly uncovered a staggering corruption case inside the intelligence community, where a high-ranking CIA employee with top secret clearance is accused of hiding an extraordinary fortune—including roughly $40 million in gold bars—inside his Virginia home.

The employee, identified by federal authorities as David Rush, held a Senior Executive Service position at the CIA and maintained Top Secret clearance while allegedly carrying out what investigators now describe as a years-long pattern of deception, false credentials, and financial fraud.

What was initially treated as a routine internal review has now escalated into one of the most alarming insider cases in recent memory.

According to law enforcement sources, Rush was found to be in possession of 303 one-kilogram gold bars during a May 18 FBI search of his residence in Virginia. The gold alone is valued at more than $40 million. Agents also reportedly discovered approximately $2 million in cash and 35 luxury watches, including multiple Rolex timepieces.

Rush was arrested the following day, on May 19, and has since been denied release by a federal judge. He remains in federal custody as the investigation continues.
