NBC reported that officials stated the couple had been dead for “quite a while.” A search warrant was issued due to what law enforcement described as circumstances “suspicious enough in nature to require a thorough search and investigation.”
Santa Fe County Sheriff Adan Mendoza revealed that pills were found near Arakawa’s body, calling them “very important evidence at the scene.” He further stated, “We are looking at that specifically and other medications that were possibly in the residence. That is something of concern.”
