Vice President JD Vance is sending a clear message: President Trump is strong, healthy, and full of energy. But if the unthinkable were to happen, Vance insists he is ready to step up and lead the nation.
In an interview with USA Today published Friday, Vance brushed off concerns about Trump’s age. The president began his second term at 78 and just celebrated his 79th birthday in June.
“The president is in incredibly good health,” Vance said. “He’s got incredible energy. He’s the last person making phone calls at night, and he’s the first person who wakes up, and the first person making phone calls in the morning.”
When pressed about being “one heartbeat away from the presidency,” the vice president didn’t hesitate. Vance reminded Americans that while tragedy is always possible, he is confident Trump will serve out his term.
