President Donald Trump didn’t mince words when Maryland Governor Wes Moore tried to lecture him on crime. The commander-in-chief fired back with a blunt six-word message: “Stop talking and get to work.”

Moore’s Letter to Trump
The dust-up began after Trump deployed the National Guard to secure Washington, D.C., amid rising crime. Governor Moore criticized the move and sent Trump a letter on August 21, touting Maryland’s supposed success in cutting crime.
“Even in the face of millions of dollars in cuts to federal funding for violence intervention and gun violence prevention under your administration — including to programs directly credited with lowering rates of homicide and other violent crimes — our state and local communities continue to invest in proven strategies that help us build safer, more vibrant neighborhoods,” Moore wrote.
