But recently, he was moved to a lower-security facility in San Salvador. And what’s more shocking? He’s not in a prison cell. According to court filings, he’s now staying at Centro Industrial — in a private, fully furnished room.
Rep. Ivey didn’t take kindly to being denied face-to-face access with the man he called his “constituent.”
“Cut the crap!” Ivey barked in frustration when discussing how Salvadoran authorities blocked his attempt to visit the criminal alien.
The phrase “constituent” seems like quite the stretch — considering Abrego Garcia isn’t even a U.S. citizen and certainly doesn’t live in Ivey’s district anymore. But that didn’t stop the Democrat from treating him like a political priority.

This drama comes on the heels of another embarrassing episode involving Senator Chris Van Hollen — another Maryland Democrat — who reportedly used taxpayer funds to visit Abrego Garcia last month. Not only did he meet with him, but he posted a photo online of the two casually sipping margaritas.
Let that sink in: While crime runs rampant in cities across America, Democrats are globe-trotting to coddle foreign gang members who were legally deported.
Abrego Garcia looked relaxed, clean, and well-fed in the photo. Not exactly the “torture victim” narrative Democrats want Americans to believe.
El Salvador’s President Nayib Bukele couldn’t help but mock the spectacle.
“Kilmar Abrego Garcia, miraculously risen from the ‘death camps’ & ‘torture’, now sipping margaritas with Sen. Van Hollen in the tropical paradise of El Salvador!” Bukele wrote sarcastically on X.
Americans are rightfully outraged. While our own veterans struggle with homelessness and skyrocketing medical costs, Democrat lawmakers are busy championing the rights of deported gang members who terrorized U.S. communities.
Ivey and Van Hollen seem more concerned with the living conditions of foreign criminals than with the security and safety of the American people. Their actions beg the question: Who exactly do they serve?
The sheer absurdity of this episode — from demanding access to a gang member, to sharing drinks with him in paradise — paints a disturbing picture of just how far Democrats are willing to go to defend illegal aliens, even those tied to violent gangs.
This isn’t immigration reform. This is radical activism masquerading as diplomacy. And the American people are watching.
