Hollywood actor Robert De Niro is once again stepping into the political spotlight, using his platform to rally activists against President Donald Trump while pushing for increased protest activity and voter turnout ahead of the upcoming elections.
During a recent organizing call tied to the “No Kings” movement, De Niro delivered a fiery message to supporters, painting a grim picture of the current state of the country and urging immediate action. The event served as a launchpad for a broader National Day of Action, where organizers aim to mobilize demonstrations and political engagement across the country.
De Niro focused heavily on economic and policy concerns, attempting to tie rising costs and global tensions to the Trump administration. “It doesn’t matter if you’re a Democrat, a Republican, or an Independent—no one, no one voted for new wars. No one voted for higher prices at the pump. No one voted for higher prices in grocery stores. No one voted for higher prices in the housing market,” De Niro said, notably omitting that many of these economic pressures surged during the previous administration.
The actor also took aim at immigration enforcement policies, framing them as unjust and harmful to communities. “No one voted for deporting our good neighbors,” he said. “And no one voted for government-masked thugs shooting down our citizens in the streets.” His remarks echoed a broader narrative pushed by activist groups critical of federal enforcement actions.
