New York City politics just got hit with a fresh controversy that is already raising serious national security questions.
Rama Duwaji, the wife of Mayor Zohran Mamdani, is now facing backlash after a series of old social media posts resurfaced online. The posts, which date back nearly a decade, reportedly include praise for individuals linked to extremist groups and harsh criticism of American military personnel.
The situation is quickly gaining attention because of what those posts actually contain.
Posts Linked to Designated Terror Group Figures
According to reports, several of Duwaji’s past posts referenced members of the Popular Front for the Liberation of Palestine, a group officially designated as a foreign terrorist organization by the United States since 1997.
One post from September 2017 featured an image of Leila Khaled, a figure widely known for her role in airline hijackings in the late 1960s and 1970.
The image was accompanied by a quote attributed to Khaled:
“If it does good for my cause, I’ll be happy to accept death.”
