Comey to Be Escorted by Secret Service?!

>> Continued From the Previous Page <<

CNN reported:

“Former FBI Director James Comey is expected to be escorted by US Secret Service agents to their Washington Field Office on Friday afternoon, according to a law enforcement source.”
“Comey will be interviewed by agents investigating a social media post he posted Thursday showing shells in the sand on a beach spelling out ‘86 47,’ which has become a popular social media code for removing Trump from the presidency, according to the law enforcement source.”
“Comey is not in custody and is appearing voluntarily, the source said.”

Investigators are reportedly focusing on Comey’s intent—was this a deliberate signal or a mere coincidence? The Secret Service wants to determine whether the post constitutes a threat or could inspire someone to take violent action against Trump.

His response, however, only adds to the skepticism.

“I posted earlier a picture of some shells I saw today on a beach walk, which I assumed were a political message. I didn’t realize some folks associate those numbers with violence. It never occurred to me but I oppose violence of any kind so I took the post down,” Comey said on Instagram.

That’s not sitting well with critics, who believe the former FBI chief is playing dumb to avoid serious consequences. Comey’s statement implies that he stumbled upon the shell arrangement by chance—a claim many find difficult to believe given the specific and politically loaded message.

Ed Martin didn’t hold back during his appearance on the Benny Johnson Show:

“He knew… He’s got a problem. Perjury traps are next. Going to jail on one or the other.”

If Comey is caught lying during his interview, that could land him in serious legal jeopardy. Making false statements to federal agents is a crime—and Comey, of all people, should know that.

This isn’t the first time the former FBI Director has found himself at the center of political turmoil. From his role in the Clinton email probe to his fiery clashes with President Trump, Comey has long walked the tightrope of controversy. But this time, the stakes are much higher—and possibly criminal.

Whether or not charges will be filed is still up in the air. As CNN notes, “a decision on whether the case is chargeable as a threat against the president may lie with the US attorney in Washington.”

But one thing is certain: this latest chapter in the Comey saga has all the makings of a political firestorm. Stay tuned.
