In a decisive move on Tuesday, a New York appeals court rejected former President Donald Trump’s request to lift a gag order in connection with his recent hush money trial, overseen by Manhattan District Attorney Alvin Bragg. Despite the trial’s conclusion and a guilty verdict already delivered, the court decided to maintain restrictions on Trump’s communication about the case.
Trump’s legal team had argued that the gag order should be lifted since the trial had already ended. However, Matthew Colangelo, representing Biden’s Department of Justice, urged the court to maintain the order, citing concerns about the trial’s fairness and integrity.

The case centered on allegations that Trump had arranged payments to silence discussions during his 2016 campaign about an alleged affair.
