Sen. Ted Cruz is looking far beyond the next election cycle, offering a bold prediction that the Democratic Party’s future could soon be dominated by two of its most progressive figures.
The Texas Republican argued that Rep. Alexandria Ocasio-Cortez (D-N.Y.) is positioning herself for a White House run in 2028, while New York City Mayor Zohran Mamdani could eventually replace Senate Minority Leader Chuck Schumer in Washington.
Cruz made the remarks in a video posted to X, where he suggested that the Democratic Party is undergoing a major transformation driven by its increasingly influential left wing.
