Federal Judge Jack McConnell, who recently blocked President Trump’s temporary spending freeze, is at the center of a brewing ethics scandal. America First Legal (AFL) has exposed his deep ties to Crossroads Rhode Island—a nonprofit that has received over $128 million in taxpayer funds during his tenure.

AFL sounded the alarm, stating on X, “FEDERAL JUDGE McCONNELL MUST RECUSE HIMSELF IMMEDIATELY. AFL has uncovered a major potential conflict of interest for Judge John McConnell.” The group’s investigation revealed that McConnell has been on Crossroads’ Board of Directors since 2006, serving as Chair for a decade. Despite becoming a federal judge in 2013, he continued appearing on the nonprofit’s IRS filings.

The numbers are staggering. In 2023 alone, Crossroads received $18.6 million in government grants—more than half of its $30 million revenue. Between 2009 and 2023, the nonprofit collected $117.6 million in taxpayer funds, with an additional $2.9 million already funneled to it this year.

Americans (mainly the Conservative Voters): Hello. Those leftist, partisan judges who are interfering with the President over his Executive Orders on freezing foreign aid funds and spending on its current contracts, as well as on the Birthright Citizenship Exec Order, is a clear violation of the Constitution which established separation of Executive, Judicial, and Legislative Branches.
Law needed: Any judges (other than Scotus) do not have authority to halt the President in exercising authority for his duties, responsibilities, and agenda, and shall not exercise court rulings [usually partisan] in the attempt to affect any circumstances to interfere in the President’s duties. Those judges would need to submit a brief to SCOTUS with their arguments against the President executing his duties.
Law needed: any judge who attempts to interfere with the President exercising his duties will also be subject to scrutiny determining either their partisan donations or receiving compensation to/from to the political parties opposite to that of the President. Any such donations or compensation are a conflict of interest to impartial decisions by those judges and they are required to recuse themselves from initiating or supporting legal actions against the President’s execution of his Constitutionally-authorized duties. If they instead forge ahead to pursue legal actions against the President to interfere with implementing his duties, those judges will be summarily impeached and replaced with the President’s nominee selected for that judge’s district.
