These remarks quickly sparked outrage, and ABC News was forced to take action. In a statement to Axios, a network spokesperson announced Moran had been suspended “pending further evaluation.” The spokesperson emphasized, “ABC News stands for objectivity and impartiality in its news coverage and does not condone subjective personal attacks on others. The post does not reflect the views of ABC News and violated our standards.”

But for many Americans, Moran’s meltdown was merely the latest evidence of a corrupt media class that long ago abandoned neutrality. Stephen Miller wasted no time calling out the double standard in a blistering response.
“For decades, the privileged anchors and reporters narrating and gatekeeping our society have been radicals adopting a journalist’s pose,” Miller stated in a post on X. “Terry pulled off his mask.”
Support came swiftly from high-profile conservatives, including Vice President J.D. Vance, who didn’t hold back in his criticism of ABC’s partisan bias. “An ABC journalist [Terry Moran] posted this absolutely vile smear of Stephen Miller. It’s dripping with hatred. Remember that every time you watch ABC’s coverage of the Trump administration,” Vance warned.
White House Press Secretary Karoline Leavitt also weighed in, standing firmly behind Miller and condemning Moran’s comments.
This debacle couldn’t come at a worse time for ABC News. The network is still recovering from a humiliating $15 million defamation settlement it was forced to pay President Trump last December. That case stemmed from inflammatory remarks made by anchor George Stephanopoulos, who referred to a controversial legal case involving E. Jean Carroll by using the word “rape”—a term that sparked massive legal and public backlash.
Together, these incidents paint a troubling picture of a network that has allowed political bias and personal vendettas to overshadow journalistic integrity. From multi-million-dollar lawsuits to disgraceful public meltdowns, ABC News appears to be careening off course—and everyday Americans are noticing.
As for Moran, his suspension raises a critical question: how many more in the media share his views but keep them hidden behind the camera? If nothing else, his rant has once again confirmed what many conservatives have long believed—the so-called “objective press” is anything but.
