A newly released independent investigation into Britain’s grooming gang scandal is reigniting outrage across the United Kingdom, with tech entrepreneur Elon Musk demanding criminal consequences for officials accused of ignoring widespread abuse that allegedly victimized hundreds of thousands of young girls.
The explosive report, unveiled on June 16 by independent Member of Parliament Rupert Lowe, was not commissioned by the British government or funded through taxpayer dollars. Instead, more than 23,000 citizens contributed over $1.1 million to finance what supporters describe as a citizen-led search for answers after years of public frustration with government inaction.
Compiled by barrister Graham Smith, the 219-page document examines court records, survivor accounts, whistleblower testimony, and previous official reviews. According to its findings, organized grooming gang activity operated across at least 149 local authority areas throughout the United Kingdom.
