President Donald Trump is calling for Rep. Ilhan Omar (D-MN) to step down from Congress after a federal court document reportedly listed the Minnesota Democrat under another name, bringing fresh attention to years of disputed allegations involving her identity and previous marriage.
The president addressed the controversy during a Thursday campaign rally in Iowa, arguing that the reported disclosure raised questions about the name Omar used when she entered Congress.
But the dispute extends beyond a name appearing in a legal document.
