Jim Acosta Gets Publicly Called Out—Hotel Scene Erupts

Acosta Responds With Harassment Allegations

Acosta pushed back publicly, offering a very different version of events. He accused Tracey of aggressively confronting Miami Herald investigative reporter Julie K. Brown, who is widely known for her reporting on Jeffrey Epstein’s sex trafficking case.

“We saw what you did at the Substack party. You were bullying [Brown] in a menacing way and would not let her walk away from you,” Acosta posted Sunday. “Your behavior was shameful and ugly. So yes, I stepped in as did several other people, including security, to escort Brown away from you.”

Brown’s reporting played a significant role in bringing renewed national attention to Epstein’s crimes and the broader network of individuals connected to the case, making her presence at media events particularly notable.

Security Incident at Virginia Giuffre Memorial Event

Additional context emerged from journalist Tara Palmieri, who shared video showing Tracey being approached by security at a separate event held in honor of Virginia Giuffre, one of Epstein’s most well-known accusers who died in 2025.

“I went to Virginia Giuffre’s memorial today and who was there… [Tracey], a man who has made defaming Giuffre a full time job. Here’s security trying to remove him,” Palmieri posted.

The footage added another layer to the growing scrutiny surrounding Tracey’s presence at Epstein-related memorial and journalism events, though no official statement has confirmed any removal or disciplinary action.

Tracey Fires Back at Brown

Before issuing his public challenge to Acosta, Tracey had already engaged in a separate dispute with Brown, using harsh language while rejecting accusations made against him.

He referred to Brown as a “scumbag” and accused her of fabricating claims about his conduct and motives.

“No one ‘harassed’ you. Liar,” Tracey said. “Enjoy the bogus Netflix series based on the ‘memoir’ you fabricated quotes for. Provably.”

Brown had previously accused Tracey of harassment, though the specific details of her claims have not been publicly verified in full through official statements.

Broader Commentary on Epstein Coverage

Tracey has also weighed in more broadly on how public discourse around Jeffrey Epstein has evolved in recent years. In a February 12 appearance on Coleman Hughes’ podcast, he argued that the aftermath of Epstein’s 2019 jailhouse death has contributed to what he described as a heightened “moral panic.”

“Because there is this element inherent to the story of quote unquote pedophilia or at least perceived pedophilia, then when one’s mut motives get impugned, obviously are they’re going to be impugned in the most depraved way possible,” Tracey told Hughes. “Meaning I’m trying to cover up my own sexual lust for underage children or something to that effect.”

He also compared the surrounding public discourse to previous political controversies, suggesting that accusations in such emotionally charged cases often escalate quickly and take on broader political meaning.

Silence From Key Parties

As of now, neither Brown, Tracey, Acosta, nor Substack has issued formal responses to requests for comment from media outlets seeking clarification on the sequence of events.

The situation continues to circulate online, fueled by competing narratives, social media posts, and limited official confirmation, leaving many of the central claims unresolved as the dispute unfolds publicly across platforms.
