Letitia James in Handcuffs? New Referral Drops!

>> Continued From the Previous Page <<

In a formal communication to federal prosecutors, Pulte pointed to discrepancies between what was allegedly disclosed to insurers and the property’s actual occupancy. “Instead, according to the post, she knew the house was actually occupied by four people – three children and her niece,” Pulte wrote, raising the possibility that key facts may have been withheld. He added, “As such, it appears Ms. James may have defrauded the Illinois-based insurance company.”

The allegations don’t stop there. In a separate referral connected to Florida, Pulte claimed that James may have made inaccurate statements to Universal Property Insurance regarding how often the home would be vacant. Insurance filings reportedly indicated the house would sit empty for a portion of the year—an assertion now being challenged.

“[It] appears Ms. James made false representations that her property would be unoccupied five months out of the year,” Pulte wrote in correspondence addressed to Jason Quinones. “According to the post, this was false. The house was, in fact, occupied year-round by her niece.”

Further questions were raised in another letter sent to Andrew Boutros. There, Pulte cited documentation suggesting that James informed Allstate only a single adult would reside in the home, with no children present.

“[It] appears Ms. James made representations that the house would be occupied by a single adult, with no children. Instead, according to the post, she knew the house was actually occupied by four people – three children and her niece,” Pulte wrote. He concluded his request by urging authorities to take a closer look: “We kindly request you authenticate and investigate this matter, if you deem appropriate.”

So far, federal officials have acknowledged receiving the referrals but are remaining tight-lipped about any next steps. A spokesperson for the U.S. Department of Justice confirmed that the submissions had been delivered to the appropriate U.S. attorney offices but declined to elaborate further.

The situation places James—already a high-profile and polarizing figure—back under the microscope. Whether these latest accusations will gain legal traction remains to be seen, but the renewed push for accountability is certain to fuel political debate in the weeks ahead.
