Hegseth Sends Brutal Message to Defiant Senator

A dramatic confrontation between the Trump administration and a sitting Democrat senator escalated on Monday after Secretary of War Pete Hegseth formally censured Sen. Mark Kelly (D-AZ) and moved to slash his military retirement pay, citing what the Department of War described as “seditious” conduct aimed at undermining lawful military authority.

The action stems from a controversial viral video released in November by a group of Democrat lawmakers now being labeled by critics as the “Seditious Six.” The group includes Sens. Mark Kelly of Arizona and Elissa Slotkin of Michigan, along with Reps. Maggie Goodlander (NH), Jason Crow (CO), Chris Deluzio (PA), and Chrissy Houlahan (PA). In the video, the lawmakers repeatedly told members of the U.S. Armed Forces phrases such as, “You can refuse illegal orders,” and “You must refuse illegal orders,” without identifying any actual unlawful directives.

Conservatives and military leaders immediately sounded the alarm, arguing the video was not an educational warning but a calculated attempt to inject politics into the chain of command and encourage defiance of President Trump, the commander-in-chief.
