Over the weekend, independent journalist Nick Shirley released a bombshell 42-minute investigative video documenting what he described as widespread fraud tied to taxpayer-funded daycare centers in Minneapolis. What he uncovered was so alarming that the video immediately went viral, racking up an estimated 116 million views on X and more than 1.6 million views on YouTube.
Unlike establishment reporters who rely on press releases and anonymous sources, Shirley did something radical — he showed up in person.
According to Shirley’s reporting, he personally visited eight daycare centers that collectively received at least $17,986,049 in government funding during fiscal year 2025 alone. What he found was shocking: facilities that appeared completely empty, with no visible children, staff, or signs of legitimate operation.
