A fundraiser supporting a 72-year-old Target worker who faced aggressive harassment for wearing a Charlie Kirk-themed shirt has soared past $250,000 after the incident went viral online.
Jeanie Beeman, a longtime Target employee in Chico, California, was quietly stocking shelves when a customer objected to her red shirt featuring the word “Freedom” and the name of slain conservative activist Charlie Kirk. The confrontation was captured on video by Michelea Ponce, a local far-left activist, who then shared the footage on TikTok.
The encounter quickly escalated. Ponce confronted Beeman about her attire, prompting Beeman to explain she wore the shirt in honor of Kirk. She also noted that Target allows employees to wear any red shirt while on duty. That didn’t satisfy Ponce, who aggressively called Beeman “racist” and “f*ing stupid,” labeling Kirk a “racist, misogynist piece of sh.”
Despite the verbal assault, Beeman remained composed throughout the video. She responded calmly with comments like, “I’m not going to argue with you. Have a nice day,” even as Ponce pressed her to remove the shirt or face complaints to management.
