Virginia’s high-stakes governor’s race just took a dramatic turn. A major Democratic donor—one who previously gave big to Barack Obama and Hillary Clinton—has decided to back Republican nominee Lt. Governor Winsome Earle-Sears after she was the target of a shocking racist attack.
On August 21, during a tense school board hearing in Arlington County, Earle-Sears clashed with left-wing activists over the county’s controversial bathroom policy that allows biological males claiming to be transgender into girls’ restrooms and locker rooms. While the lieutenant governor spoke about protecting children and women’s privacy, protesters outside hurled insults and displayed disturbing messages.
One sign stood out for its vile content. An older white woman held a poster declaring: “Hey Winsome, if trans can’t share your bathroom, then blacks can’t share my water fountain.”
