A political dispute that began inside a University of Chicago lecture hall has escalated into a formal ethics complaint against Democratic Sen. Elissa Slotkin of Michigan.
Michael Bicksel, a conservative student journalist who attended Slotkin’s October 13 campus appearance, has challenged the senator’s comments about young Americans considering employment in President Donald Trump’s administration.
Bicksel argues that Slotkin crossed an ethical boundary by suggesting that the prospect of future congressional investigations could discourage students from accepting positions in a Republican administration.
