Trump & Putin Strike Peace Deal? Ukraine Stunned!

>> Continued From the Previous Page <<

Putin emerged from the meeting cautiously optimistic. “I would like to hope that the agreement we’ve reached together will help us bring closer that goal and will pave the path towards peace in Ukraine,” he said, adding, “We expect that Kiev and European capitals will perceive that constructively and that they will not throw a wrench in the works.”

The Russian leader warned against backroom games by European powers, insisting that provocations must not sabotage the fragile progress.

Trump’s Message to NATO and Zelensky

President Trump, meanwhile, confirmed he would soon be reaching out to NATO allies and directly informing Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelensky of the talks. “I will call up NATO in a little while. I will call up the various people that I think are appropriate, and I’ll, of course, call up President Zelensky and tell him about today’s meeting,” Trump stated.

The former Commander-in-Chief underscored the critical role played by his administration’s envoys, acknowledging Rubio, Witkoff, and former intelligence chief John Ratcliffe for their contributions.

A History of Tough Talks

Reflecting on his long and complicated relationship with Putin, Trump reminded reporters that his presidency was constantly overshadowed by the so-called “Russia hoax,” which complicated U.S.–Russia relations from day one. Still, Trump insisted that Putin always understood the games being played by the Washington establishment.

“We really made some great progress today. I’ve always had a fantastic relationship with President Putin, with Vladimir. We had many, many tough meetings, good meetings. We were interfered with by the Russia, Russia, Russia hoax. That made it a little bit tougher to deal with, but he understood it,” Trump explained.

Details Still Under Wraps

So far, the exact terms of the tentative agreement have not been made public. Both leaders kept specifics vague, signaling that more negotiations lie ahead. For now, the world is left to speculate about what a Trump-brokered peace might look like and how Ukraine, NATO, and Europe will respond.

What is clear is that this moment marks a dramatic shift. A potential deal between Trump and Putin, should it hold, could alter the trajectory of the war and reshape the balance of power in Eastern Europe.

For Trump, the meeting showcased not only his willingness to engage but also his ability to bring adversaries to the table — something critics in Washington said could never be done.

As Putin put it, “We expect that Kiev and European capitals will perceive that constructively.”

The ball, it seems, is now firmly in Ukraine’s court.
