Mail Carrier Treated the Mail Like Her Own Bank
Mary Ann Magdamit, a letter carrier working at the Torrance Main Post Office, had access to thousands of pieces of sensitive mail daily. Instead of doing her job, prosecutors say she built a criminal operation straight out of a con artist’s playbook.
From 2022 through July 2025, Magdamit was accused of systematically stealing checks, debit cards, credit cards, and personal information right out of the envelopes she was supposed to deliver.
