Bryan has more than one DUI on his record. He was arrested for seven days in October 2020 on suspicion of criminal strangulation at his Eugene, Oregon apartment involving his ex-girlfriend. After an incident when he reportedly put his hands around her neck and tried to take her phone when she asked for aid, responding cops found Bryan outside his apartment, holding his head. Later, Bryan entered a guilty plea to fourth-degree assault and threatening, and the remaining four counts were withdrawn. In addition to being placed on three years of probation, he had to finish a batterers’ intervention program.
Bryan was accused of domestic abuse once more in July 2023. This time, the allegations led to his arrest by Oregon police on charges of felony assault and violating the Abuse Prevention Act by going up against a person who had a restraining order against them. He ran away at first, but was subsequently captured and held. TMZ said that Bryan is presently engaged to his ex-girlfriend, whom he assaulted in 2020, and they have children together, however it’s unclear if the same lady was involved.

Bryan, who was 42 at the time, became well-known in the 1990s for his depiction of Taylor, the disobedient oldest son on “Home Improvement,” and he received praise for it. In the early 2000s, he made a seamless transition from child star to adolescent heartthrob, appearing as a famous guest on TV series including “Buffy the Vampire Slayer,” “Smalltown,” and “Veronica Mars.” He stopped performing in 2009 to focus on making his own independent films. In 2022, Bryan made a comeback to the big screen as the President’s assistant in the Netflix animated superhero series “The Guardians of Justice.”
