Federal investigators say a former Pennsylvania Democrat lawmaker is facing serious criminal allegations after agents reportedly uncovered more than 100 files containing suspected child sexual abuse material during a court-authorized search of his residence.
According to federal court documents, Jesse White, who previously served in the Pennsylvania House of Representatives and represented portions of Allegheny, Beaver, and Washington counties, has been charged with offenses related to child sexual abuse material. White served in the state legislature from 2008 through 2014.
The case began after federal authorities received cyber tips that allegedly linked suspected illegal material to a cellphone associated with White. Investigators reviewed the information and launched a federal inquiry into the matter.
