Whoa! Whoopi Goldberg Triggers HUGE Controversy

By  |

Whoopi Goldberg, the anchor of ABC’s “The View,” got into trouble after using a phrase that many in the socially conscious world deemed offensive. She genuinely apologized after the show after immediately recognizing her error.

According to Entertainment Weekly, Goldberg accidentally used the banned phrase “gypped” when criticizing former President Donald Trump on her most recent Wednesday program.

Goldberg stated in reference to Trump’s contentious payment to former porn star Stormy Daniels, “The people who still believe that he got, you know, gypped somehow in the election, will still believe that he cared enough about his wife to pay the … money from his personal thing.”

Obviously, the term “gypped” has long been linked to a negative opinion of the commercial operations of gypsy populations. Despite its widespread use, the term is today considered to be a derogatory and culturally inappropriate statement about Romani people.

Once allegations of using a racial slur from internet followers arose, Goldberg, real name Caryn Elaine Johnson, swiftly apologized on Twitter.

TV personality claims that while she was growing up, she unknowingly picked up the contentious term “gypped,” unaware of its contentious history.

“You know, when you’re a certain age, you use words that you know from when you’re a kid or you remember saying, and that’s what I did today, and I shouldn’t have,” In a video apology she tweeted, Goldberg stated. “I should have thought about it a little longer before I said it, but I didn’t, and I should have said ‘cheated,’ and I used another word, and I’m really, really sorry.”

Another error by Goldberg, whose pattern of careless mistakes necessitates apology after apology.

In a startling admission made last year, Goldberg controversially asserted that the terrible Holocaust perpetrated by the Nazis on Jews and other minorities during World War II was “not about race” at all. This contradicts the widely held idea that Hitler’s political activities were motivated by his support for a “Master Race” and his perception of Jews as inferior.

The presenter was suspended from “The View” for a period of time following the inflammatory event. She made some early attempts to defend her position, but eventually apologized repeatedly from the bottom of her heart.

She published a partially-apologetic tweet after the broadcast in an effort to defend her statement, but it was later deleted, as seen by The Washington Examiner.

“On today’s show, I said the Holocaust ‘is not about race, but about man’s inhumanity to man.’ I should have said it is about both. As Jonathan Greenblatt from the Anti-Defamation League shared, ‘The Holocaust was about the Nazi’s systematic annihilation of the Jewish people — who they deemed to be an inferior race.’ I stand corrected,” Inside the since-deleted tweet, Goldberg wrote.

Later in the year, Goldberg reignited the discussion by appearing to support the opinions that caused her suspension. She unexpectedly said that it is unjustified to believe the Nazis when they claim that the Holocaust was motivated by racial animus when in London for an interview in December.

“Yes, but that’s the killer, isn’t it?” Goldberg said. “The oppressor is telling you what you are. Why are you believing them? They’re Nazis. Why believe what they’re saying?”

She undoubtedly found herself stuck in a loop of constant apologies, repeatedly professing regret for her ignorant statements.

This past July, in an intriguing turn of events, a popular celebrity got themself into trouble and had to apologize. They had caused a stir by referring to a sizable number of young Turning Point USA members as racist Neo-Nazis. However, the person garnered even more criticism when they carelessly used a homophobic slur towards popular U.S. Senator Lindsey Graham, necessitating yet another apology.

Goldberg has recently generated a lot of controversy with her responses, even those directed at her own audience. She recently voiced irritation when they laughed at former vice president Mike Pence’s joke about Buttigieg, who served as transportation secretary under Biden, and his “maternity leave.”

Recently, one of the co-hosts had to correct an error regarding the First Amendment made by an agitated Goldberg during a contentious discussion about Fox News star Tucker Carlson’s opinions on possible election fraud in 2020. In contrast to Goldberg’s claim that the amendment didn’t provide people the freedom “to lie,” her colleague Sara Hines offered the correct viewpoint illuminating the gap in Goldberg’s interpretation.

Regarding errors, her criticism of Carlson’s program containing previously unreleased video of the event on January 6th demonstrated a startling ignorance of the word “Orwellian.”

According to Goldberg, Carlson “took a page from George Orwell’s ‘1984’ and told his viewers to reject the evidence of their eyes and ears,” whereas in reality he did the exact reverse. He played the videos and advised the audience to form their own opinions.

Every day seems to bring a fresh attempt by Goldberg to incite hostility and strife in modern American society by disseminating false claims.
