Americans are once again being reminded that personal privacy can vanish without warning. A growing number of shoppers are now realizing that even a routine trip to the grocery store can come with unseen surveillance. And this time, the spotlight is on Wegmans.

The upscale grocery chain is under fire after customers discovered signage at one of its New York City locations warning that biometric data may be collected inside the store. The notice quickly went viral, triggering outrage from privacy advocates, lawmakers, and everyday shoppers who say they were never clearly informed.
Wegmans confirms facial scanning, raises more questions than answers
After the sign spread across social media, Wegmans confirmed to Fox News Digital that it is using facial recognition technology at some locations.
“Like many retailers, we use cameras to help identify individuals who pose a risk to our people, customers or operation,” the company said.
