Walz & Smith’s Troll FAILS – Internet Claps Back!

Minnesota’s Democrat Governor Tim Walz and Senator Tina Smith recently found themselves at the center of a social media storm after an ill-conceived attempt to mock Ohio Republican Senator J.D. Vance. What started as a lighthearted jab at Vance over his visit to a Georgia donut shop quickly turned sour when users on X (formerly Twitter) pointed out a glaring issue with their trolling effort.

The saga began when Vance, who was in Valdosta, Georgia on August 22, stopped by a local bakery as part of his campaign. While there, one employee expressed her discomfort about being filmed during the senator’s visit, leading to an awkward moment. Vance later reflected on the encounter, stating he “felt terrible” for the worker, describing her as “terrified” by the presence of cameras and the Secret Service.

Eager to score political points, Governor Walz seized the opportunity to poke fun at Vance’s bakery mishap during a campaign stop at Cherry Hill Orchards and Farm in Lancaster, Pennsylvania. After being told there were donuts for sale at the shop, Walz reportedly quipped, “I have no problem picking out donuts,” in a thinly veiled jab at Vance’s earlier experience.
