It gets better. During the event, Walz went even further out on a limb, praising Kamala Harris as “one of the most qualified candidates to ever run for president.” For anyone paying attention to Harris’s trainwreck political career — from her dismal presidential campaign to her embarrassing gaffes — Walz’s comment shows just how out of touch today’s Democratic leadership really is.
The New York Post provided more details on Walz’s cringe-worthy appearance. In an event that was supposed to be part of his “listening tour,” Walz dropped one tone-deaf statement after another. When pressed by moderator Brittany Shepherd of ABC News about why he didn’t take his “white guy code talk” strategy to cable news, Walz chuckled and brushed it off.
“I think I’ll give you pretty good stuff, but I’ll also give you 10% problematic,” Walz quipped, trying to laugh away the absurdity of his remarks. He even referred to himself as a “knucklehead” — not exactly the sharpest branding for someone who once aimed to be second-in-command to the President.
Earlier this month, Walz told CNN’s Jake Tapper that he might run for a third term as Minnesota governor but had no plans to jump into the 2028 presidential race. When pushed again at Harvard about his political future, Walz bizarrely suggested that Democrats should run a “collective” presidential campaign in 2028 — whatever that means.
It’s worth remembering that this is the same Tim Walz who had the audacity to call JD Vance and Donald Trump “weird” during the last election cycle. After this latest performance, it’s clear Walz himself has a firm grip on the market for weirdness in politics.

The entire episode is another glaring reminder of how clueless and desperate Democrats have become. Instead of connecting with voters through real solutions and genuine leadership, they’re resorting to patronizing “strategies” that insult the very people they claim to understand.
Walz’s comments show exactly why rural voters, working-class men, and everyday Americans continue to walk away from the Democratic Party. When you need someone to “code talk” to voters rather than simply talk to them honestly, you’ve already lost.
Here’s the video:
If this is the best the Democrats have to offer going into 2028, it’s going to be another long, painful lesson for their out-of-touch elites — and a golden opportunity for conservatives to keep winning.
