Urgent: Stop Trump-Musk Interview, Reporter Asks Biden!

>> Continued From the Previous Page <<

“One more, Elon Musk is slated to interview Trump tonight on X. I don’t know if the president is going to — feel free to say if he is or not — but I — I think that misinformation on Twitter is not just a campaign issue. It’s a — you know, it’s an America issue. What role does the White House or the President have any sort of stopping that or stopping the spread of that or sort of inter — intervening in that. Some of that was about campaign misinformation, but you know it’s a wider thing, right?” Wootson asked.

Jean-Pierre, appearing to sympathize with Wootson’s concerns, reiterated the administration’s stance on the responsibilities of social media platforms. She stopped short of outlining any specific actions the White House might take, but her comments suggested a desire for these platforms to actively police content that could be perceived as misinformation.

“Yeah, no, I mean, you’ve heard us talk about this many times from here about the responsibilities that social media platforms have when it comes to misinformation, disinformation. I don’t have anything to read out from here about specific ways that we’re working on it, but we believe that that they have the responsibility,” Jean-Pierre responded.

The Press Secretary went on to acknowledge the fine line the administration must walk in dealing with private companies like X, emphasizing that while the government recognizes their role in curbing misinformation, they are also mindful of the companies’ autonomy. Jean-Pierre’s comments, however, left many wondering if the White House would, in fact, take any behind-the-scenes steps to influence the content of the Trump-Musk interview.

“These are private companies, so we’re also mindful of that too, but look — it is — I think it is incredibly important to call that out as you’re — you’re doing. I just don’t have any specifics on what we have been doing internally as it relates to the interviews, not something that I’m tracking, and I’m sure the President’s not tracking it either,” Jean-Pierre added.

The intense scrutiny surrounding Trump’s interview with Musk did not stop at the U.S. borders. The European Union’s Internal Market Commissioner, Thierry Breton, reportedly sent a letter to Musk on Monday, demanding that he censor any potentially harmful content during the interview. The letter, dated August 12, 2024, was seen as part of a coordinated effort by globalist elites to muzzle Trump as he ramps up his 2024 campaign.

Breton, a French business executive and politician, has been an outspoken advocate for stricter regulations on social media platforms, particularly when it comes to content that could influence political outcomes. His demand to censor Trump during the interview is a stark reminder of the broader international push to control the narrative as the world watches the U.S. election cycle unfold.

The looming Trump-Musk interview has set the stage for a clash between those who champion free speech and those who seek to curtail it in the name of preventing misinformation. With the election drawing closer, the stakes are higher than ever, and it remains to be seen how these tensions will play out in the coming months.

As the world tuned in on Monday night, one thing was clear: the battle over free speech and control of information is far from over. The outcome of Trump’s interview with Musk could very well set the tone for the 2024 election, and the efforts to silence him are only just beginning.
