A federal magistrate judge in Minnesota is facing intense scrutiny after refusing to authorize criminal charges against former CNN host Don Lemon following a disruptive protest at a church in St. Paul. While several activists involved in the incident were arrested, Lemon walked away without charges, prompting questions about judicial impartiality and political influence.
The judge at the center of the controversy is Magistrate Judge Douglas L. Micko of the U.S. District Court in Minnesota. Fox News correspondent Bill Melugin reported that Judge Micko’s wife, Caitlin Micko, is employed as an assistant attorney general in the office of Minnesota Attorney General Keith Ellison. Conservative journalist Jack Posobiec later confirmed the relationship and added that Caitlin Micko has publicly demonstrated hostility toward U.S. Immigration and Customs Enforcement.
