But Dershowitz didn’t stop there. He went on to confirm that among those named in court-related material are former U.S. Senator George Mitchell of Maine — once Senate Majority Leader — and ex-New Mexico Governor Bill Richardson, who also served as a U.N. ambassador.
As if that weren’t enough to send shockwaves through Washington, Dershowitz added another name to the list: former Israeli Prime Minister Ehud Barak.
“Now, whether any of these people actually did anything wrong, we don’t know, because we know there have been many, many false accusations,” he cautioned.
That’s a sobering reminder. Even as these names surface, Dershowitz was careful to distinguish between what’s been alleged and what can be proven. In fact, he knows firsthand how damaging a false accusation can be.
He was once accused by Virginia Giuffre — the Epstein victim who tragically took her own life this April — of being involved in the disgraced financier’s crimes. Dershowitz not only denied the claims but launched a defamation suit. The case ended in 2022 when Giuffre withdrew her accusations and admitted she may have been mistaken.
Another accuser, Sarah Ransome, once filed court documents making wild claims involving the Clintons, Donald Trump, Richard Branson, and others. “She said she had videotapes of this,” Dershowitz said, “and then after an investigation, she admitted that she made up the whole story, and yet the affidavit still remains in the court records.”
That’s the danger, he stressed — separating fact from fiction in a scandal loaded with political implications and media hysteria.
“So we have to distinguish true accusations from false accusations,” Dershowitz warned.
Still, the fact remains: sealed files exist. And inside them, powerful names lurk.
President Trump is already taking action. Just last week, he directed Attorney General Pam Bondi to unseal all grand jury transcripts tied to Epstein. He also ordered the release of any legitimate evidence that hasn’t yet seen the light of day.
If Bondi follows through, Americans could finally get a clearer picture of who was truly connected to Epstein’s twisted world — and who was unfairly dragged into the narrative.
One thing is certain: this story isn’t going away anytime soon.
As Dershowitz himself made clear, “there is an FBI report of interviews with alleged victims in which at least one of the victims names very important people, and the names have been redacted. I know some of the names from my investigation.”
With the walls closing in, Democrats named in those sealed files may soon be facing a harsh spotlight. And for the public, long denied the full truth, the next few months could bring long-awaited answers.
