Trump’s Move: Another GOP Exit from Presidential Race!

After making a strong impression at the Iowa caucuses on Monday night, a fellow Republican presidential contender has withdrew from the contest.

Asa Hutchinson, a former governor of Arkansas, has suspended his presidential candidacy after garnering just 191 votes, placing him sixth. Remarkably, Ryan Binkley, an evangelical pastor, surprised everyone by surpassing him in the contest for the party’s candidacy.

“Today, I am suspending my campaign for President and driving back to Arkansas,” In a statement, Hutchinson stated on X. “My message of being a principled Republican with experience and telling the truth about the current frontrunner did not sell in Iowa. I stand by the campaign I ran.”

“I answered every question, sounded the warning to the GOP about the risks in 2024 and presented hope for our country’s future. Susan and I are blessed beyond measure, and we are grateful for the opportunity to have for in the political arena for America.”

Despite barely making it to the first presidential debate, Gov. Hutchinson stuck with his anti-Trump argument that the GOP had abandoned its core values in the MAGA era and continued to compete in the election. Evangelical Iowans, who enthusiastically hailed President Trump as the nation’s “only hope” to halt the nation’s slide toward socialism under President Joe Biden, finally rejected his legacy conservatism.

Shortly after Ramaswamy chose to support Trump and abandon his candidacy, Hutchinson made his declaration. On Tuesday night, Ramaswamy will accompany Trump to a rally in New Hampshire. Despite Trump’s criticism of every contender, Ramaswamy refrained from verbally sparring with Trump in the closing days of the campaign, raising the possibility that he was vying for a significant role in a future Trump government.

Three Republicans remain in the race: Nikki Haley, Ron DeSantis, and Trump. DeSantis barely finished second in Iowa despite spending a substantial amount through his super PAC. Haley’s surge in the polls has raised questions about how long she will be able to compete. In national and state surveys, President Trump is leading both candidates; nevertheless, Haley has raised the stakes in the New Hampshire race.
