The mock diagnosis was built around familiar political satire. The fictional medical chart portrayed O’Donnell as suffering from an extreme case of “Trump Derangement Syndrome,” with exaggerated symptoms centered on anger toward the president and an apparent inability to get through a news cycle without becoming upset over Trump.
It is not the first time Trump has used an AI-generated production to make the same point.
Last month, Trump shared an AI video featuring a white-coated version of himself playing the role of “Dr. Trump.” In the clip, the fictional physician addressed people supposedly suffering from TDS and offered a tongue-in-cheek solution.
“Have you or someone you know been diagnosed with TDS?”
“The symptoms can be relentless. Fortunately, I’m Dr. Trump, and I have a treatment plan.”
The imaginary treatment was just as unserious as the diagnosis: turn off the news, say a prayer and grab a Diet Coke.
The earlier video expanded the joke beyond O’Donnell. AI-generated versions of Whoopi Goldberg, John Leguizamo, Edward Norton, Robert De Niro and Julia Roberts were also portrayed as suffering from what the video characterized as extreme hostility toward Trump.
For Trump supporters, the clips fit neatly into the president’s long-standing habit of using humor, insults and social media to answer his critics directly.
For O’Donnell, however, the rivalry is considerably more personal.
The feud between Trump and O’Donnell dates back to 2006, when O’Donnell criticized Trump during her time on The View. What began as a celebrity dispute eventually became intertwined with the broader political divide surrounding Trump.
Neither side appears particularly interested in letting the argument disappear.
Trump has repeatedly attacked O’Donnell publicly, at one point even questioning whether she should remain in the United States.
“She is not a Great American and is, in my opinion, incapable of being so!”
Trump later wrote:

O’Donnell has also continued to criticize Trump, including raising questions over his age, health and fitness for office. Trump, meanwhile, has continued responding in the manner that has become familiar to anyone who follows his Truth Social account.
Instead of issuing a carefully worded political statement, he turned the dispute into another piece of internet entertainment.
That is what makes the latest AI meme stand out.
Trump did not simply fire off another insult. He created an entire fictional character around the joke, complete with a medical premise, an exaggerated diagnosis and a running gag that can be revived whenever he chooses.
The president’s use of AI-generated material also reflects how dramatically political communication has changed. A politician no longer needs a television studio or a professional comedy production to create a visual joke capable of reaching millions of people.
A phone, an idea and a social-media account can be enough.
And Trump has shown that he is more than willing to use those tools.
The timing is particularly notable because O’Donnell has reportedly been looking toward a return to The View for the show’s 30th season. If that happens, the familiar Trump-O’Donnell confrontation could once again become part of the daily political and entertainment conversation.
For Trump, that could mean another steady supply of material.
For O’Donnell, it could mean that leaving the country did little to end the feud.
The distance between the two may now be thousands of miles, but social media has erased much of that separation. Trump can post a new meme from Washington, and O’Donnell can see it almost immediately in Ireland.
That has created an unusual dynamic.
A feud that once unfolded primarily on television and in newspaper headlines has now become a running digital spectacle.
Trump’s latest “Dr. Trump” joke may disappear from the news cycle quickly, but the larger rivalry is unlikely to do the same.
After nearly 20 years of political and personal clashes, neither Trump nor O’Donnell has shown much interest in delivering the final word.
And with AI giving Trump an entirely new toolbox for political humor, the president may have just discovered another way to keep the old feud going — one meme at a time.
