President Donald Trump is putting a trusted legal fighter in one of the most powerful positions inside the White House as Republicans prepare for a potentially explosive battle over control of Congress.
Trump announced Saturday that Will Scharf, a longtime ally and member of his personal legal team, will become the next White House counsel.
Scharf currently serves as White House staff secretary and will replace David Warrington, who is reportedly preparing to leave the administration and return to private practice.
