Pundits and leftist journalists are predictably hammering the same tired talking point: “But he said he’d end the Ukraine war on day one!” The chorus of media outrage grows louder each day. Of course, it’s all a calculated attempt to undermine his credibility and distract from his ongoing efforts toward a peaceful resolution.
Despite the slow progress on Ukraine, Trump has not backed down from trying to bring an end to the bloodshed. Behind the scenes, he’s been in constant discussions and continues to press both sides toward a meaningful agreement. The former president hasn’t hidden his growing frustration with Russian President Vladimir Putin.

During a high-level cabinet meeting this week, Trump didn’t mince words when discussing Russia’s actions and Putin’s double-dealing nature.
“I’m not happy with Putin. I can tell you that much right now,” Trump said, according to Reuters, as he highlighted the ongoing loss of life. “We get a lot of bullshit thrown at us by Putin… He’s very nice all the time, but it turns out to be meaningless,” he added.
Despite the mounting challenges, Trump is taking real action. He confirmed that he’s authorized the delivery of defensive military aid to Ukraine and may back a Senate bill that would place new sanctions on Moscow.
“We’re sending some defensive weapons to Ukraine, and I’ve approved that,” Trump said, making clear he remains committed to helping Ukraine defend itself while simultaneously working for peace.
On the Ukrainian side, President Volodymyr Zelensky welcomed the news and pushed the United States to move swiftly.
“These are critical deliveries that mean saving lives and protecting Ukrainian cities and villages. I expect results from these contacts very soon. And this week, we are preparing formats for meetings of our military and political teams,” Zelensky said.
So while Trump tries to put out fires across the globe, the media continues playing the same broken record. Instead of reporting on actual accomplishments, they cling to outdated soundbites and hollow criticisms.
If peace negotiations in Gaza succeed in the coming weeks, Trump will have helped de-escalate five major global conflicts in record time. But don’t expect CNN or The New York Times to give him an ounce of credit. They’re too busy clinging to the one war that hasn’t ended yet, all in the name of partisan politics.
At the end of the day, Trump’s actions speak louder than the media’s noise. The question isn’t whether he’s doing enough—the question is, why won’t the press tell the truth about it?
