Trump Gets BIG Win Amid Election Investigation

>> Continued From the Previous Page <<

The dispute centers around a dramatic FBI operation conducted earlier this year in which agents seized ballots and hundreds of boxes containing election records from Fulton County — the Atlanta-area county that became ground zero for allegations of voting irregularities and misconduct following President Donald Trump’s contested 2020 defeat.

The federal raid stunned county officials and immediately ignited fears that Washington was escalating its role in election oversight just as Americans prepare for another heated national election cycle.

Shortly after the seizure took place, Fulton County attorneys launched an aggressive legal challenge against the Justice Department. County officials argued that the search warrant used by federal agents was deeply flawed and based on allegations that had already been reviewed by other investigative bodies.

According to the county’s filing, previous investigators had found no evidence of intentional wrongdoing related to the ballots in question. Attorneys further argued that federal investigators failed to fully inform the magistrate judge about those earlier findings before obtaining approval for the search warrant.

In a lengthy 68-page opinion, Judge Boulee did not completely let the federal government off the hook.

In fact, the judge openly criticized portions of the affidavit used to justify the raid, labeling parts of the government’s submission as “problematic,” “troubling,” and even “misleading.”

Still, Boulee concluded that the issues identified in the affidavit were not serious enough to invalidate the warrant itself.

“While the Affidavit was certainly far from perfect, this is not a situation where an officer left out all the facts that might undermine probable cause or where an officer intentionally lied,” Boulee wrote.

That conclusion dealt a heavy blow to Fulton County officials, who had hoped the court would step in and force federal authorities to return the original ballots and election materials immediately.

The county also argued that keeping the original documents in federal custody would interfere with its legal obligations under Georgia’s public records laws and hamper its ability to answer continuing concerns from voters about election integrity.

Judge Boulee rejected that argument as well, noting that federal officials had already supplied copies of the seized records to county authorities.

Despite the setback, Fulton County leaders are signaling they are nowhere near finished fighting the case.

Robb Pitts sharply criticized the ruling and vowed to continue battling the federal government in court.

“Our fight has exposed the flawed affidavit and suspicious timeline of federal actions,” Pitts said. “We will continue, as always, to stand by our election workers and the voters of Fulton County. We intend to vigorously pursue all available legal options.”

The county’s legal team has repeatedly warned that the case could establish a dangerous precedent by allowing federal authorities to seize ballots and election materials during an active election cycle.

With the 2026 midterms rapidly approaching, critics fear the situation could open the door to even greater federal intervention in state-run elections — a concern that has fueled intense debate nationwide about election oversight, ballot security, and states’ rights.

Judge Boulee addressed those concerns directly in a footnote included in the ruling, suggesting that the legal analysis might look very different if federal authorities attempted similar actions during an ongoing election.

“Importantly, the seizure at issue in this case did not interfere with the State’s ability to conduct the 2020 election or certify election results, nor have Petitioners shown that it will hinder the State’s ability to conduct future elections,” he wrote.

Even so, the ruling is unlikely to quiet the political firestorm surrounding Fulton County, which has remained at the center of election controversy for years. As legal battles continue and tensions over election integrity intensify nationwide, the fight over who controls America’s ballots appears far from over.
