Trump DELIVERS Crushing Legal Blow!

In a ruling that could reshape how federal agencies cooperate, the United States Court of Appeals for the District of Columbia Circuit handed President Donald Trump a significant legal victory. The court determined that the Internal Revenue Service may share certain taxpayer data with the Department of Homeland Security when it comes to enforcing immigration law.

For years, critics of the Trump administration argued that tax records were untouchable in immigration cases. This week, the appellate court rejected that sweeping claim.

A Firewall Argument Falls Apart

At the center of the dispute was Section 6103 of the Internal Revenue Code. Advocacy groups insisted the statute imposed a near-absolute wall between tax information and immigration enforcement. They warned that allowing cooperation between agencies would “undermine trust” in the tax system.

But the D.C. Circuit was not persuaded.

The court concluded that federal law contains clear exceptions permitting disclosures tied to legitimate law enforcement purposes. Immigration enforcement, the panel signaled, does not operate outside the broader framework of federal authority. In other words, the tax code was never meant to function as a shield against lawful investigations.
