Late-night television is preparing for another shakeup as Jimmy Kimmel announced that he will step away from Jimmy Kimmel Live! for his annual summer hiatus. But it wasn’t simply the vacation announcement that generated headlines. Kimmel also revealed the lineup of celebrity guest hosts who will take over his desk during his absence, including one name guaranteed to reignite political conversation: Rosie O’Donnell.
Introducing O’Donnell during his announcement, Kimmel joked that she was selected specifically because of her decades-long public feud with President Donald Trump.
“As a special treat for our commander in chief, I asked one of his all-time favorites – Rosie O’Donnell – to be here to keep the hits coming,” Kimmel said.
