In yet another case of the judicial branch overstepping its bounds, a federal judge from San Francisco just decided he knows immigration policy better than a sitting president. U.S. District Judge Edward Chen, a longtime liberal activist and Obama appointee, has blocked President Trump from ending the Temporary Protected Status (TPS) for more than 350,000 Venezuelan nationals—many of whom are in the country illegally.

This decision comes as Trump attempts to rein in mass migration and restore law and order to a nation overwhelmed by the consequences of Joe Biden’s open border policies. But Judge Chen had other plans—plans that align suspiciously well with the far-left agenda.

The ruling essentially gives illegal Venezuelan migrants yet another green light to remain in the United States, despite overwhelming evidence that this open-door policy has brought chaos to American cities. Under Biden, hundreds of thousands entered unlawfully, and many have already been linked to surging crime, theft, and overwhelming strain on public services.
Chen’s order paints a rosy picture of illegal migration. In his ruling, he claims that ending TPS would, somehow, be more damaging to the U.S. economy and public safety than letting hundreds of thousands of undocumented migrants stay.
