Adding to her criticism, Clinton also questioned whether Musk’s DOGE team had the necessary experience to handle such a critical upgrade.
“Most of them aren’t old enough to rent a car. And you’re going to let them mess with airline safety that’s already deteriorated on your watch?” she wrote in a fiery post on X.
Duffy wasted no time firing back, blaming the so-called “experienced Washington bureaucrats” for the current state of the nation’s crumbling infrastructure.
“You need to sit this one out,” Duffy shot back. He then turned the tables on Clinton, exposing what he called “extreme grifting” by the Clintons through USAID.
“I know you’re lashing out because DOGE is uncovering your family’s obscene grifting via USAID, but I won’t let you lie and distort facts,” Duffy wrote in a Thursday post. “I’m returning this department to its mission of safety by using innovative technology in transportation and infrastructure.”
Slamming Clinton’s past leadership, Duffy continued, “Your team had its chance and failed. We’re moving on without you because the American people want us to make America’s transportation system great again. And yes, we’re bringing the 22-year-olds with us.”
The bitter exchange comes as America faces mounting transportation failures under the Biden administration. In addition to a disastrous train derailment in Ohio that led to a toxic chemical spill, Boeing has faced a string of safety incidents, including a cabin door blowing off mid-flight and recurring issues with the latest model of the 737. Boeing’s Starliner spacecraft has also experienced critical failures, leaving two astronauts stranded on the International Space Station.
Duffy, a former five-term GOP congressman from Wisconsin and one-time Fox News host, emphasized during his recent confirmation hearing that aviation safety was a top priority. Speaking to the Senate Committee on Commerce, Science, and Transportation, Duffy assured lawmakers that he would work to restore confidence in Boeing and ensure the FAA enforced safety regulations.
“I think we have to … push the FAA to make sure they are implementing their safety plan,” Duffy told the committee. “In one of my meetings, someone said they need tough love, which is what they do need.”
Duffy also made it clear that he would not interfere with the National Highway Traffic Safety Administration’s (NHTSA) ongoing probe into Tesla’s advanced driving technology.

“Yes, I commit to this committee and you that I will let NHTSA do their investigation,” he stated, referencing the agency’s review of Tesla, a company led by Musk.
Meanwhile, in yet another embarrassing moment for the Biden administration, a senior official from the National Transportation Safety Board (NTSB) fact-checked Pete Buttigieg after he tried to blame former President Trump for the catastrophic train derailment in East Palestine, Ohio. The official clarified that responsibility for the disaster rested with Norfolk Southern, the rail carrier, not Trump.
Buttigieg’s attempt to shift blame came after Trump personally visited East Palestine, bringing supplies and showing support for affected residents. The contrast was stark—Trump’s direct action versus Buttigieg’s deflection of responsibility.
As Duffy and Musk push for efficiency and accountability in Washington, Clinton’s attack appears to be nothing more than a desperate attempt to protect the old guard. But as the American people demand safer roads, railways, and skies, the days of Washington insiders playing defense for a broken system may be numbered.
