The Left Tried to ERASE It—McMahon STOPPED Them!

>> Continued From the Previous Page <<

“Both the New York Department of Education and the Board of Regents violated federal antidiscrimination law and disrespected the people of Massapequa by implementing an absurd policy: prohibiting the use of Native American mascots while allowing mascots derived from European national origin,” said U.S. Secretary of Education Linda McMahon.

The Department of Education’s Office for Civil Rights launched an investigation back in April—and what they found was nothing short of disgraceful.

New York officials gave the green light to mascots rooted in European heritage while demanding schools erase Native American ones. The conclusion? Clear, selective enforcement of identity-based rules—a direct violation of Title VI of the Civil Rights Act.

McMahon made a personal appearance at Massapequa High School in May to deliver the findings and made the administration’s position unmistakable.

“We will not allow New York state to silence the voices of Native Americans, and discriminatorily choose which history is acceptable to promote or erase,” McMahon declared.

The Trump administration offered New York a simple way out: revoke the discriminatory ban, apologize to Native American tribes, and move forward in compliance with federal law.

Instead, New York’s education leaders doubled down. Not once, but twice, they rejected the proposed Resolution Agreement.

Their response? More woke stubbornness. The result? Escalation.

Now, with no cooperation from state officials, the Department of Justice will pursue legal action. New York could face a federal lawsuit—and even lose education funding if it continues to violate civil rights law.

This case tears the mask off progressive politics. While the Left claims to care about Indigenous voices, they’re actively working to erase Native American history from public schools.

Their hypocrisy is blatant. They allow mascots with European symbolism—but demand the removal of names that honor Native heritage. It’s cherry-picking under the guise of “sensitivity,” and McMahon made it clear that such double standards won’t be tolerated.

The controversy isn’t just about a school mascot. It’s about government elites trying to impose radical values on everyday Americans.

No one in Massapequa asked to have their mascot banned. This was a unilateral power grab from Albany, pushed by ideologues who think they know what’s best for every community—whether the community agrees or not.

Decisions like these belong to parents, students, and school leaders—not out-of-touch bureaucrats with political agendas.

With the DOJ now involved, New York faces serious consequences. If the courts rule against them, the state could be forced to reinstate Native American mascots—or risk forfeiting federal education dollars.

Such a decision would hit taxpayers hard and potentially open the floodgates for lawsuits in other states following similar woke mandates.

The federal government under the Trump administration is sending a message: all cultural histories deserve equal respect—and woke politics will not be allowed to rewrite the past to suit a political narrative.

The Left gambled that they could bully schools into submission and whitewash part of America’s history.

They lost.

Thanks to leaders like Linda McMahon, the federal government is standing tall to defend the rights of local communities, protect equal treatment under the law, and hold radical ideologues accountable.

This isn’t just a win for Massapequa—it’s a win for every American who believes in fairness, tradition, and the freedom to honor our heritage without government interference.
