That’s when Booker began to unravel.
Booker Dodges and Deflects—Then Explodes
Instead of answering directly, Booker tried to change the subject, pivoting toward legislation on congressional security.
“I really appreciate that you’ve now shifted the accusation you made earlier,” Booker said—an obvious attempt to dodge the core issue.
But Cruz wasn’t having it. He pressed for a simple yes-or-no answer, naming justices like Brett Kavanaugh, Amy Coney Barrett, Clarence Thomas, Samuel Alito, and Chief Justice John Roberts, all of whom were subjected to targeted harassment outside their homes.
Backed into a corner, Booker snapped.
“I did not interrupt you, sir. I would appreciate if you let me finish!” he barked.
The Meltdown That Proved Cruz’s Point
Booker, who often touts himself as a voice of reason, couldn’t hold it together. After his angry outburst, he lashed out further, accusing Cruz of dishonesty.
“I am sick and tired of hearing the kind of heated partisan rhetoric, which is one of the reasons why we have such divisions in this country,” Booker claimed—before contradicting himself by saying Cruz had spread “a patent lie.”
Cruz pounced on the hypocrisy.
“I do enjoy the fact that my colleague from New Jersey raises his voice and says it’s a patent lie and says he’s doing so in defense of lowering the rhetoric,” Cruz noted. “There is some irony to doing those two together.”
The moment laid bare what conservatives have been warning about for years: a partisan justice system weaponized to protect left-wing activists while punishing those on the right.
One Justice System for Democrats—Another for Everyone Else
Cruz’s question wasn’t baseless. It was backed by fact.
While the DOJ did charge Nicholas Roske, who attempted to assassinate Justice Kavanaugh in 2022, not a single protester has been arrested for blatantly violating federal law by demonstrating outside the homes of Supreme Court justices.
According to a 2023 National Review report, the Justice Department’s inaction was no accident. It was a conscious political choice—one that sent a loud and clear message: if you’re a left-wing activist, the law doesn’t apply to you.
January 6 Protesters Face Harsh Justice—But Left-Wing Mobs Get a Pass
The same DOJ that has thrown the book at January 6 defendants, many of whom never engaged in violence, has turned a blind eye to progressive mobs intimidating sitting Supreme Court justices.
For Democrats, it’s not about the law—it’s about control.
Booker’s tirade, Cruz’s composure, and the facts on record made one thing clear: scrutiny of Biden’s Justice Department is not only justified—it’s overdue.
The American people deserve one justice system, not two.
Cruz asked simple, reasonable questions. Booker responded with anger, evasion, and contradiction. The contrast was undeniable.
And no matter how loud the shouting gets, facts don’t lie.
