An emotional high school English teacher is sounding the alarm over what he says he is witnessing inside his classroom, describing a level of academic struggle among graduating seniors that left him fighting back tears.
The teacher shared his experience on social media after just two days with his students. According to his account, some 17- and 18-year-olds were struggling to complete even the most basic writing exercise despite receiving extensive assistance from their teacher.
“I literally broke down in the middle of class because I’m teaching seniors,” he shared. “These kids are leaving high school and going to college, hopefully, after they finish.”
