The White House has barely had time to absorb Karoline Leavitt’s decision to leave her post before speculation over her replacement has exploded across Washington.
Leavitt, 28, announced that she will step down as White House press secretary at the end of August, choosing to devote more time to her two young children. President Donald Trump praised her publicly and indicated that she will remain an important figure within his political orbit even after leaving the briefing room.
The unexpected announcement immediately opened one of the most closely watched jobs in the Trump administration.
