Ever since the shocking murder of conservative activist and Turning Point USA founder Charlie Kirk, his widow, Erika Kirk, has found herself under an uncomfortable spotlight.
While many Americans expressed sympathy and support following the devastating loss, others have taken a darker path. Instead of allowing a grieving wife and mother the privacy to heal, some online figures have turned her personal life into a target for speculation, gossip, and increasingly bizarre accusations.
That ugly trend reached a new level this week when a viral social media post claimed that Erika Kirk had already entered a new romantic relationship.
The post, which generated more than a million views, alleged that Kirk had become involved with Blake Wynn, the nephew of casino businessman Steve Wynn. According to the accusation, Kirk had supposedly been seen behaving affectionately with Wynn at an upscale hotel in Beverly Hills.
Despite the growing attention surrounding the rumor, no evidence accompanied the claim.
But unlike previous attacks, this one prompted a direct response from Kirk herself.
