Smithfield is gearing up for a grand opening that’s more than just a ribbon-cutting—it’s a revival of tradition, hospitality, and small-town grit. And it’s all thanks to a homegrown couple who decided to bet on faith, family, and one beloved Southern staple: chicken salad.
Family Roots, Not Corporate Suits
This June 18th, Smithfield welcomes Chicken Salad Chick to its growing neighborhood, located at 924 North Brightleaf Boulevard. But this isn’t some faceless franchise dropping into town—this is a local dream come true, built from scratch by North Carolina natives Heather and Clay Harmon.
“Clay and I are incredibly excited to bring Chicken Salad Chick to Smithfield,” Heather said. “We first discovered the brand in Wilmington and have been hooked ever since.”
